Since the government announced the phasing out of the penny last year, Peterborough Cares has run an ongoing penny drive to help Habitat reach their goal of collecting 10 million pennies. Throughout this time, The Real Canadian Superstore has championed the cause allowing for the drop-off of these soon to be obsolete coins in a giant drum at their Lansdowne Place location.
