Campus Chapters partner with Habitat for Humanity
Canada through builds, on-campus education, and fundraising. It's a way for
students to put love into action, build partnerships, and share a common goal. Please visit the Youth Involvement Section of the Habitat Canada web site for more information on starting a Campus Chapter.
Past Youth Activities
The Impact Leadership
Program of Trent University, an extracurricular program offered by the Office
of Student Affairs, organized the construction of a garden shed as a service
learning opportunity. The new Home Hardware
on Chemong Road supplied a kit at cost. Funds were contributed by the Trent Central
Student Association and by Cabinets from all of the Colleges. About thirty students, many of them members of
the Impact Leadership Program, worked on the construction of the 10’ by 10’
shed on the Trent Campus. The shed will be moved
to 908 Clonsilla for use by the family that will own the home being completed
there.
We
thank Trent students for these important contributions and
appreciate the interest the University community is showing in Habitat for
Humanity’s efforts to address housing needs in Peterborough and area.
